How do ethanol and biodiesel work together?
In order to correctly grasp the relationship between ethanol and biodiesel, you must first learn about them both independently, and then they will be able to completely comprehend the connection that is present between the two fuels. Ethanol and biodiesel are very much alike in many respects, and so all of the interrelationship between ethanol and biodiesel should be taken into serious consideration.
So what is ethanol?
Ethanol is basically a flammable, colorless, and mildly toxic chemical mixture with a characteristic perfume like smell and it is the alcohol that is found in alcoholic drinks; in more common usage, it is simply referred to as alcohol.
Ethanol has been utilize by humans as far back as prehistoric times, and although it has also been used for more adverse reasons, such as explosive apparatus because of its flammable character, it has also been considered as positive when used in alcohol drinks and other products. Ethanol has also been used as a treatment essence for as far back as prehistoric times too, and so this is seen as being a positive use.
Not only that, but ethanol is the chemical mixture which is at present being considered to take the place of gasoline; this is a profoundly important subject particularly when we consider the fact that we are in a raging war with Iraq and that this is an area where we get most of our fuel from
Biodiesel, what is it?
Biodiesel is a name which refers to a diesel replacement, a fuel that is produced from biological sources, such as oilseed rape, corn and beets. Though most ethanol and biodiesel is blended with gasoline and diesel, some newer-model vehicles can burn pure biofuel with only minor modifications. However, lack of consumer understanding of ethanol and biodiesel is a key reason for limited confidence in it.
The relationship between ethanol and biodiesel?
With respect to the relationship between ethanol and biodiesel, the most important factor that must be taken into consideration is that these are the two main choices that are being examined in respect to which is better for the environment as a whole, and which one is going to used for the most part. Ethanol, however is considered as being the better choice, and this is for several different reasons.
There are also many benefits to biodiesel, such as, domestic production of ethanol and biodiesel is now putting hundreds of millions of dollars into American farming community so these must also be taken into consideration.
